Gabriel Chalfin-Piney-González (they/them) is a multi-hyphenate artist and administrator with 15 years of experience working with community art organizations, orchestrating multidisciplinary programs, and supporting artists in a career-changing capacity. They managed residencies, cohorts and artist support programs for Colby Museum’s Lunder Institute for American Art, Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Vassar College’s Powerhouse Theater, Chicago Parks District, among others. They are the Exhibitions and Residency Manager at Hyde Park Art Center and Founding Director of the Jewish Museum of Chicago.

Gabriel’’s research practice is informed by self taught artist practices, oral and ecological histories, and reciprocal collaboration. They hold a MA in Art Administration and Public Policy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BA in Art History and Printmaking from the State University of New York at New Paltz.

Gabriel has held positions at the Lunder Institute for American Art - Colby Museum of Art, Chicago Parks Department, Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild, Cornell Cooperative Extension and Vassar College’s Powerhouse Theater, among others. They have choreographed and performed at the Design Museum of Chicago, apexart, Speedwell Projects, Chicago Artists Coalition, High Concept Labs, and Whitney Museum of Art.
